Promise...

I'm really sorry for not blogging for the past month or so! I just finished my end of year exams like two weeks ago but I'm so busy now despite school being over for 2009! I promise you a summer of fashion treats from me. Sooner than you think maybe! I'm going on a roadtrip this Wednesday down to Yallingyup and there my friend and I may do a mini photo shoot on the beach with our latest threads ;) But that is still a MAYBE. All the same, I love you all for visiting my blog. Jet out.

Eyewear. So hot right now.

Summer is well on its way down here.
I love sunglasses so much (:
I have a pair of Fiorelli aviators and Ralph Lauren round-owls.
Definitely my favourite accessories at the moment!
I tried my hand at designing a few pairs.
I was inspired by G-Dragon's sunglasses in his music video for "Heartbreaker". Hahahah. So asian.
He's the leader of the Korean boy band, BigBang.
If you're game, check him out!
He goes alright.

Grainy.

Back to Basics

I haven't blogged in a while and I apologise. I went on a three day trip to the countryside where it was beautiful and clean but utterly bland. I'm a city person forever!
Anyway, I have been doodling again and just basic stuff this time. It's always nice to have plenty of basics.
More of my more detailed designs to come. When I find the time. But there's always time, isn't there?

Oh WOW!

ANTHONY CAPON WON.
From the very beginning, I knew that Anthony had season two of Project Runway Australia in the bag. But at one point, while watching the finale, I began to doubt. William's and Lauren's collections were exceptionally unique and quite beautiful. But at the end of the day, Anthony won. His collection was elegant, beautiful, surprising, dramatic, adventurous, enjoyable and so very interesting. Even though it was all black, he pulled it off so well. 'The Midnight Collection' is what I call it. I'm way happy for him, he really deserved it.

I love you, Anthony!

Daytime, lights off. Night life, lights on.

It's kinda funny sometimes when I go to look for something in my wardrobe and get fashion block.
Much like writer's block.
So then I raid my mum's wardrobe for inspiration.
Look what I find.
WAYNE COOPER.

Anyway, flipping through magazines isn't gonna be a whole lot of help but going through someone else's wardrobe or even OP SHOP RACKS (!!) is strangely really inspiring to try a new style. I'm not really into ruffly, satin black Wayne Cooper pieces but for the occasion I was attending, it suited just fine!
Happy (:

Bluejuice Dress + Live Catalogue

I like what I see here.
This design is pretty neat.
I like.
I saw this in the latest Live store catalogue and cringed at all the overpriced, poor styles but then saw this and wept for joy.
Still not that great but.
Hah.

Mood Board for today.

I'm talking about colour, city life, summer...

Roughing It.

I've decided that I want to make something that I would want to wear in Summer 2010 which is less than THREE MONTHS AWAY! I can't wait. So I've decided to make a balloon dress/skirt (refer to my TUXEDO SKIRT idea).
I also wanted to design pieces for my friends for special occasions.
It's hard work trying to show exactly what I want in my drawings but the vision in my head is way better than what I put down on paper.
I've included a few of my rough ideas sketches.

From here, I take a summer holiday fashion course and develop my design and construction skills and soon I won't be complaining about the lack of affordable, satisfying, indie fashion in Perth.

O, Ben Sherman!

I'm in love with this Ben Sherman model.

It's Love.

And I thought fashionable and practical technology was dead...

"To get some beautiful and magical instant photos of your own, pick up a Fuji Instax Mini camera ($220) the next time you’re in Bon Marche…"

It's not exactly an accessory but it's a seriously cool replacement for the now extinct Polaroids.

Anthony Capon

I was so excited when this year's Project Runway Australia came out. Last year was amazing and I have to say that Leigh and Mark were my favourites, but now I'm just going to take a moment to rave rave RAVE about Project Runway Australia 2009's most exciting contestant: Anthony Capon.
"Epitome of avant-garde..."
He is vibrant, quirky yet very composed. He's very forward about everything. I'm in love with the way he thinks before he designs one of his amazing creations.
And he wears a man-skirt. I would love to meet him. He needs to make me an outrageous frock for my 75% safe and classic wardrobe.
I love you, Anthony.

BeWitchery

Hahaha ok, firstly, I'm going to apologise for all these lame post titles but mehhh.
Anyway, my friend has a pair of Witchery shoes which I constantly ask to borrow. The discomfort of pointy shoes out of the way, they go well with my favourite black cocktail dress. Also, skinny leg jeans and my high-waisted wide legs. My legs look well tapered so I like combining these Witchery shoes with my favourite pair of Levi skinnies.
This is quite old and familiar advice but it's a classic tip: if you're short and/or petite go for the dangerous looking heels with a short dress or slimming pants. INSTANT HEIGHT.
Hahaha, so clichèd.
P.S. Anybody know where I can get these heels for myself?
Oh sorry, I seemed to have drooled while typing this...

Vested in me...

My favourite place to go at the moment is The Basement in Myer in the city. Overly expensive but a good place to go to spot new designers or more importantly, A SALE.
I saw this sort of loose boxy style vest and I thought it was cute. It was rock chic (I mean sheek, not chick) and would be a versatile piece in the wardrobe. It had a small shape print all over it. It was adorable. Like I mean, I've seen better vests but I definitely wanted to buy it. It wasn't a label I recognised so I thought, "DO IT!" Unfortunately, it was $40. I decided it wasn't worth it. Adios Boxyyyy.

What's the dealio boys?

Living in Perth, Western Australia, definitely has its perks.
Downside: WE ARE YEARS BEHIND ON THE FASHION SCENE.
We try real hard to look like we're up there with Melbourne let alone New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Prague...
What I really want to see is a whole block of indie fashion boutiques in Fremantle and up in Perth, like somewhere near the Art Gallery. Seriously, we have the land. Let's do something worthwhile with it. Avant-garde anyone?
Indie, indie, indie. Away from the vain mainstream pop. We can do it for ourselves! Innovation and changelings. Definitely indie, borderline avant-garde.
WE'RE IN ON THE INDIE SCENE.

ASIAN MOOD.
